I recently had to do a magazine editorial spread for a photography assignment. And decided to choose the theme 'modern myth' and incorporate it with cerolization which is a cultural blur in society.  All the pictures were taken at Moyo restaurant in Melrose Arch and we were on set for approximately 9 hours that day. But it was all worth it! I am truly satisfied with the outcome and enjoyed every moment of working on this from the planning right up to the editing. There's always that sense of accomplishment when seeing your ideas and thoughts come to life, speaking of bringing my ideas to life... a special thanks to Juta Camacho, Khatija Ahmed and Zakkiyya Obaray you guys made an amazing team.
On another note as i was flipping through a magazine, I realised how much effort goes into the little book which we usually take 5 minutes to go through...

This past Friday was nothing short of hectic! Actually the whole of 2013 seems to be turning out to be quite busy, but in a good way, there's something about constantly having something to do that makes me happy. Fortunately in-between classes and getting a mothers day gift I had time to take random pictures of what I wore. I love the fact that I can run in these heels and comfortably wear them for the entire day.

Hi guys :)
Pictured below is my 'little black dress' - A must in every girls wardrobe. I love wearing it on days when I know ill be going out at night, but too lazy to do an outfit change. At night I usually pair it with heels and a bit more jewellery. I decided to go for these snake skin leggings yesterday as it is more playful than classic and elegant.

So now that i'm finally on holiday I got a chance to get out and take some pictures. So this is what I wore yesterday. I was feeling really relaxed and wanted to go for something casual and comfy. These wedge sneakers are perfect for these autumn winterish days- only they a huge effort to put on and take off but i still love them, they super comfy and give me that extra bit of height.
To a weekend in my new wedge sneakers- hope you are going to enjoy your weekend as much i'm going to mine :)

The Coachella music festival brings the most fashion forward people out to play. Many attending totally transform they everyday sophisticated looks and still manage to make a major style statement, while remaining casual, comfy and soaking up the desert sun.

It feels like ages since the last time I blogged, but anyway here are some pretty colourful make-up pictures I recently took at my friend Khatija's make-up studio for a photography environmental portraiture assignment. For some odd reason the pictures are appearing much darker once uploaded online, but ill hopefully figure it out before my next post. Which will be soon i promise, since ill be on holiday :)

This Human Rights Day look post was photographed by Hajira.
Hope you all had a fun and relaxing public holiday and a lovely weekend :)

Last week i did a photo shoot of Rehmi at the Greonkloof nature reserve, the shoot was inspired by Ashley Lebdev and her dreamlike nature images- i'll let the pictures speak for themselves. It was a scorching hot day and fortunately,  Rehmi looked fresh until the last shot.

These days I have been working on a lot of  photography shoots, and always looking for new and exciting faces, so if you looking to build up your model portfolio email me a head shot of yourself with 'model casting' in the subject line.

I can't believe that the Cartier fashion film is already 11 months old and I only came across it this past week! Even though its quite old news by now, i couldn't help but putting it up, as the film is without a doubt  a mini-masterpiece with an alleged budget of 4 million euro's.

The fashion industry is taking advertising to a whole new level. The film is just stunningly dramatic, from the specially choreographed music to the cutting edge special effects. The film was directed by Bruno Aveillan with a crew of 60 on location members and  50 special effects technicians, and 3 cheetah's were used for filming
I found the behind the scenes video just as interesting.

Awhile back my friend hosted a Mad Hatter tea party- inspired by Alice In Wonderland. I loved the idea and couldn't resist taking pictures of the colourful decor.

I wore the brocade pants pictured below which is probably one of my favorite clothing items at the moment. Brocade is great for winter 2013, the print is appearing on all items of clothing. When fabric is fancy in itself like brocade it needs simplicity of design to show its best advantage. Thats why pants, clean cut tailored blazers and dresses would look best. I purchased these from River Island, unfortunately for us they not in South Africa, but I noticed them in about three different colours at Zara last week. My shoes are Loro Piana from Trends the address is in the comment box below.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week!!
